Psychotherapeutic Counselling

We are pleased to introduce Kay Barltrop, a qualified Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, training in advanced Psychotherapy, now practicing at Core Zone.

What is Psychotherapeutic Counselling?

In Counselling, we work together to solve problems or areas in your life where you are stuck. You may be aware of the issue or problem in your life, but unsure on how to solve it.

Psychotherapy focuses on deeper, unconscious processes that you may not be aware of, that emerge in the here and now of our working relationship.

I believe that the key to successful counselling is through collaboration between the counsellor and the client, working in partnership together to help understand your thoughts and feelings better.

I work both on a short and long term basis with clients. We will agree a time frame that we will work to, within our assessment session.

Counselling at Core Zone

What to expect...

Contact me below to arrange an initial call to explore what you need and if I can help you. We will discuss your aims, confidentiality and jointly commit to working together.

The most important factor in a successful counselling relationship is that you feel safe, supported and in a non-judgemental, confidential space.

Sessions take place weekly, at the same time each week. We will agree on a set number of session or whether we work open ended, to suit your needs.

Sessions will be conducted online via Zoom. she

Who do I work with...

I work with adults, either for individual sessions or couples relationship counselling.

I have supported clients through a wide range of issues including, but not limited to; anxiety, depression, abuse, anger management, bereavement, alcohol and drug issues, stress, unwanted thoughts and feelings, work issues, relationship difficulties, divorce and trauma.
